Watson Jones, III - Lead Pastor
Watson was born and raised on Chicago’s south side. After struggling with gang life, drugs, and a life of hopelessness, at the age of 14 Watson submitted his life to Jesus Christ. Out of a desire to see his school reached by the gospel, Watson began preaching the gospel to his friends and schoolmates. During this time, the Lord began to stir in him a deep desire to see lost people found in Jesus Christ. Watson discovered that the Lord was calling him to preach and pastor. He began a bible study in the school to shepherd people in their relationship with Christ and to teach them to engage the lost in their school.
While in college, Watson met his wife Kelli and he began to discern his call to Philadelphia, PA to plant a church. They married after graduation and have been married for 8 years. They have one daughter, Yeshaya and two sons, Watson, IV and Ellison. Watson served in a ministry/administration at Trinity International University as the Director of Multicultural Development. Watson served as a staff pastor at his home church, Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, where he served as Children’s Pastor and eventually Youth Pastor, while leading a group of 1,000 members in various church wide activities.
He completed his a church planting residency under the leadership of Dr. Eric Mason of Epiphany Fellowship in North Philadelphia in 2014.
Watson and Kelli currently reside in Philadelphia, PA as they are planting the church that the Lord has called them to plant.
